Coffin Bay is situated on lower Eyre Peninsula, has a permanent population of approximately 650 people which swells by a further 3,000 plus people during the summer school holidays and Easter periods.

It is almost a 700 km drive from Adelaide via Port Augusta.
or 400 kms via SEASA ferry from Wallaroo to Lucky Bay (Cowell).

Alternatively a 45 minute flight by REX Airlines from Adelaide to Port Lincoln Airport.
Most major car rental companies have vehicles that can be picked up at the airport which is just over a 30 minute drive from Coffin Bay.

An airstrip is located on the outskirts of Coffin Bay and caters for an increasing number of charter and private aircraft.

Climate

Coffin Bay experiences a delightful Mediterranean climate with slightly cooler summers and marginally warmer winters to Adelaide with warm summers, mild winters, lovely autumn and generally a sunny but sometimes breezy afternoon in spring. Average rainfall is about 500mm or 20 inches which mainly falls during the winter months.
